Himalaya | Michael Palin

The Michael Palin series Himalaya was filmed over a period of six months between May 2003 and April 2004. The journey followed the entire length of the 1,800-mile Himalayan range, from the Khyber Pass on the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in China's Yunnan province. In addition the crew - who had to work in altitudes as high as 17,500 feet at Everest base camp and trek through some of the deepest gorges in the world - also filmed in Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, India and Bangladesh. This book is Michael's diary of the journey, illustrated with Basil's photographs.
